Tomas Tranströmer

The poet Tomas Tranströmer is one of my favourite Swedish poets and have been for quite some time. I believe his approach, and his way of working with images and metaphors through his text is amazing and often gives great depth to commonplace situations. An ability to fit the existential questions alongside daily life. Poetry of all kinds gives me relief and I keep coming back for that consolation, and especially to Tomas Tranströmer.

This is a recording done in 1988, taken from the cassette Svenska Poeter 2, a couple of years before Tomas Tranströmer was stricken by a stroke that made him partly paralyzed. He is not able to do readings any more.

This reading is in Swedish so for all of you non speaking I give my apologises.

Ensamhet (Klanger och spår, 1966)

Svar på brev (Det vilda torget, 1983)

Galleriet (Sanningsbarriären, 1978)
